460 RTP System (Support Tray)

System Description

This custom application consists of two components integrated as a system: A customized 460 NRC Canister and a 460 modified alpha flange.

The 460 NRC Canister is customized to include a fixed internal tray and a gloveport located on the rear bulkhead.

The alpha flange is a standard flange modified to the application. The installed alpha flange is oriented to swing the door in the downward direction. A counterbalance mechanism makes the opening/closing of the door ergonomically feasible. The modified alpha flange also includes a support structure that allows a removable tray to be installed once the alpha/beta door is opened.

• Fixed support for a removable tray that is installed without tools.
• The removable tray and the tray inside the NRC form a smooth, continuous transfer surface for the components to be transferred.
